Gay Weddings in the Media

In our opinion, the ultimate goal for same-sex couples planning their wedding is integration into current magazines, websites and blogs, rather than continued separation off onto other websites and blogs like EquallyWed.com, GayWeddings.com, SoYoureEnGAYged.com and so forth.  Realistically, we are a long way from that point.  

But there's good news.  Although the language in each of these magazines or sites is not yet inclusive of all couples, it is real progress for same-sex weddings to be included along with traditional brides and grooms.

The following major mainstream wedding blogs have featured LGBT weddings in the Real Weddings tag:
  • Get Married
  • Junebug Weddings
  • Offbeat Bride
  • Ruffled
  • Snippet and Ink
  • Style Me Pretty
  • Wedding Chicks
In addition, 70% of U.S. newspapers publish same-sex wedding announcements, including, most notably, the New York Times.
